It is lovely to pick up a guitar and to know, as soon as you start playing, that you have a full bodied and solid tone that is easy to produce and that you can rely on in any situation, with the added bonus of lovely balance and a smooth, creamy character.
This guitar has a warm, mellow and resonant voice that is also focused and direct. This means that you can highlight melodic lines and voices clearly and still maintain the warm resonance in support.
When I played the Prelude from Bachs Prelude Fugue and Allegro I was able to float the continuous melodic line and bring out the shaping in the long phrases as well as the intertwining voices.
I would describe the colour of her tone as warm and glowing with a full, velvet sound in the bass, producing blended harmonies with a "honeyed" character if you like honey you should be able to hear that!
I had a lot of fun experimenting with Sor studies that require so much detail and shaping as well as a small tremolo piece that I am working on where the full bodied tone offered great support to the technique.
She is not a big and flamboyant guitar, although there is plenty more sound to come as the spruce top plays in, but a more subtle and intimate instrument that highlights balance, control and musicianship.
