Wow! What a diversity of sound! I am blown away by the speed in which this guitar can change tack – she is a firecracker with her huge musical energy.

Overall, this guitar’s tone is crystal clear while retaining her cedar warmth. As a result she gives the best of both worlds. In particular the treble strings are incredibly distinct across the fretboard; by nature there is often some discrepancy between the treble strings as a result of the thickness of the nylon, but the M15 maintains a consistent clarity that really shows the superiority of her sound.

Her vibrant personality really comes out in the Tarantelle by Mertz, I can really push the spiky, erratic nature of the piece and she stills delivers 100% with her pure, expressive tone. But with one tiny movement of the right hand up the fretboard in the softer G major section, her personality totally changes and immediately she is smoother with a much thicker sound. The exceptional clarity of the trebles also means that I can bring out the melody on the G string without too much effort.

Capricho Arabe is a pleasure to play. The M15 gives every note her full attention and so every note stands out by itself, an important attribute when playing single line melodies. The drama of this piece is amplified by her openness, and the starkness of the descending runs shows off her wonderful singing voice. Her bass voice is big and encompassing, and provides just the right amount of support without overpowering her other voices.

A truly outstanding guitar, the M15 is an extrovert in her personality and the variety of expression she can produce. She is a whole orchestra in one instrument and like her spruce-topped cousin, so much fun to play!

A guitar that is easy in every way except for when it comes to putting her down!
