Description

It is lovely to see a spruce guitar in this price range and this one immediately struck me as excellent value for money.

The eye catching looks are a bonus for a guitar that has a beautiful, clear singing voice with warm, smooth responses and very good projection overall.

The top E is rounded with a touch of brightness that helps to project the melody and encourage the player to experiment with colour and dynamics.

There is "creaminess" to the sound across the strings and very good clarity even in the upper register.

This makes for light work with the right hand, but she can also be pushed allowing the sound to blossom.

Since spruce guitars need playing in, this guitar offers a wonderful opportunity for a developing player to help build a sound palette and experience (and take credit for!) the growth of a guitar.

All in all a great student instrument.

Adrian's thoughts.

The model 4P is the first guitar in the Alhambra range to be constructed from traditional woods. The 4P is a guitar I would consider as not only an excellent starter guitar it also has a lot to offer the aspiring student, an instrument capable of delivering a wonderful introduction to the music of the Classical guitar whilst delivering ease of play by which to improve one's technique.

The specifications for the 4P have been well thought out with quality used in the areas that really matter, solid German Spruce generating tonal precision and a clear singing voice, Ebony, used in concert guitars, giving greater resistance to wear across the fingerboard and Indian rosewood, used for the back and sides, to deliver that quality look and feel.
