Roger Williams.
Biography
I have worked with my hands, at various crafts, for most of my life both as a hobby and for a livelihood. An early fascination with materials, structures and aeroplanes in particular, led me take an engineering apprenticeship with Rolls-Royce eventually becoming a jet-engine designer. My design and craft experience is extensive and extends from audio monitor speaker systems through racing sailing dinghies to guitars; but making music has always been my passion. I acquired my first guitar at the age of twelve and purchased the materials for my first handmade guitar in 1970 and since then I have restored, repaired and built many hundreds of guitars and string instruments for discerning professional and amateur musicians.

My Guitars
My Classical Guitars are designed and made in the tradition of the "Granada school", closely following the principles established by Antonio de Torres. They are light, responsive instruments with a clear, balanced tone, full in the bass with clear, bright trebles and good sustain and projection.
To order,To order, I also make a Flamenco guitar (blanca or negra) and a steel-string acoustic guitar designed for the finger-style player. I also repair and restore vintage guitars.

The respected acoustic guitarist Gordon Giltrap plays my acoustic steel-string guitar:-
" ...your guitar sounds STUNNING. I love that guitar so much and so do the audiences..."
(Gordon Giltrap)
One of Britain's most experienced classical guitarists Raymond Burley plays my Classical guitar:-
"I'm playing your guitar for the opening section of the programme, the baroque items. It suits this style of music really well. I've played your guitar for the last few months and it's really coming to life. The balance also is excellent. I particularly like the clarity of line which makes it an ideal instrument for baroque music. I can now say that I will definitely be using it for some of the items on my next CD. Well done, it's a fine instrument".
