Juan Miguel Gonzalez was born in the town of La Canada, Almeria on January 17th 1947.
His apprenticeship started with his own father, Miguel Gonzalez Abad, "El Cojo" (the man that limped) who helped Gerundino Fernandez in his last years.
He himself learned from the Moya brothers who were Antonio de Torres contemporaries and worked with him for many years. This is the reason why it can be said that Juan Miguel descends directly from Torres in the construction of guitar.
His work is constantly evolving, experimenting with new techniques in a never ending attempt to perfect his guitars, hence the reason his guitars are born with the desirable magic (duende) all flamenco guitarists look for.
For this reason we can find among his clients: Norberto Torres, Manolo Franco, Ivan Rijos and obviously Tomatito.
Vicente Carrillo was born in Casasimarro, Cuenca, on 31st July 1963. His professional experience comes from a very long history of the Carrillo family, out of which he is the sixth generation of guitar makers.
Vicente's construction style has been influenced by various schools, to which the Madrid school applied the last perfecting touches.
Carrillo guitars are well known for their very special sound that brings forward a noticeable balance between deep, powerful basses and sweet sounding trebles.
Constant innovative efforts through different construction techniques allows Vicente to evolve and to accommodate the needs and desires of each professional guitarist, speaking of which, amongst many others we can find : Paco de Lucia, Nino Josele, Vicente Amigo, Rafael Canizares and Tomatito
The fusion between these two guitar makers, where each one brings his own personal experience, make it possible to offer this new line of signature model guitars, backed by the professionalism and the caliber of a guitarist like Tomatito.
They are made under Jose Fernandez Torres (Tomatito) strict specifications. All the guitars (1a & 2a) will be personally signed by Tomatito, Vicente Carrillo and Juan Miguel Gonzalez.
