Michel Brück Concert Guitar.
The instruments made by Michel Brück allow us to experience his deep attachment to the guitar. His endeavor to do justice to his respect for the guitar as an instrument is displayed in his extreme precision and technical perfection.
The design and construction of his instruments provide the ambitious performer with a particular lightness in touch, great distinctness in all pitch levels and an excellent power of projection.
The variability in all registers allows the production of a broad spectrum of tonal colors.
Michel Brück's instruments combine the clarity of the modern concert guitar with the long European tradition of guitar-making.
Michel Brück was born in Gießen in 1965. He comes from a family with three generations of craftsmen.
At the age of 16, he discovered his passion for the classical guitar receiving several years of expert tuition and played with great intensity. He himself then also gave tuition in the concert guitar and performed in a variety of duos and in the guitar ensemble of the Justus Liebig University in Gießen.
In 1986, Michel made the decision to begin an apprenticeship as a luthier:
a decision which stemmed exclusively from his strong desire to devote himself to his instrument with the necessary degree of commitment. It was during his apprenticeship that his personal interest in the Spanish guitar and its method of construction began to develop.
In 1989, Brück built a guitar under the supervision of José L. Romanillos in Cordoba whose expert knowledge, attitude to his work and warm-heartedness left a lasting impression.
Michel Brück established his own workshop in Königsberg in 1991.
In line with his aspirations, Michel makes concert guitars which reflect his fine craftsmanship,
he considers the quality of work and the search for the perfect timbre as his essentials.
Brück's intensive study of the instruments of old Spanish masters and their methods of construction has been an inspiration for his own work techniques.
This includes encounters with the guitars of Antonio de Torres, Vicente Arias, Manuel Ramirez, Gómez Ramirez, Santos Hernández, Hermann Hauser I & II, Francisco Simplicio, Enrique Garcia, Domingo Esteso, Ignatio Fleta and Miguel Rodriguez.
